Your NZSAE Community: how to get started

The NZSAE Community is a member-only space to connect with colleagues, ask questions, share resources and learn from others working in associations.

Which communities will I belong to?

We have three communities. You’re subscribed automatically, based on the job title recorded in your NZSAE profile.

  • CEO Community: For CEOs and Executive Directors. You’ll be subscribed to all three communities: CEO, Events and General.
  • Events Community: For members working in events. You’ll be subscribed to the Events and General Communities.
  • General Community: For all other members, covering everyday association management questions and discussions.

If your role changes, or your community allocation needs updating, please contact us at brett@nzsae.org.nz. We can change this at any stage.

How do I access the community?

  1. Visit nzsae.org.nz and sign in to your member account.
  2. Click My NZSAE.
  3. Select the Community tab to view posts and join discussions in your communities.

What can I do?

Use your community to ask a question, start a discussion, share an experience or respond to another member’s post. It’s a place to compare approaches and get practical input from people facing similar challenges.

You don’t need to have all the answers to contribute. A useful question can be just as valuable as a helpful response.

How do notifications work?

You’ll receive notifications when new content is posted in a community you’re subscribed to.

When you start a post, you’ll be notified when someone replies. Members who contribute to that discussion are also notified of further replies, so everyone can follow the conversation.

You can change or turn off these emails at any stage: select Email updates on the Community page.

A few simple guidelines

Keep discussions friendly, professional and relevant. Respect different views, and avoid sharing confidential or sensitive information about your organisation, members or colleagues.

Start by introducing yourself, asking a question or sharing something that has worked well in your association. We look forward to seeing you in the community.
