NEXT Mentoring & Peer Connections
In early 2027, NZSAE will launch NEXT Mentoring & Peer Connections, bringing association professionals together to develop their capabilities, share experience and support one another.
We’re inviting a small group of experienced leaders and professionals from across the sector to help establish the programme. You’ve been invited because your experience could make a meaningful difference to a colleague.
Become a NEXT mentor
Support someone who is developing their skills, exploring leadership or finding their feet in a new role. This could be an emerging association professional, a manager taking on greater responsibility, or a newly appointed CEO or Executive Director.
You don’t need to have all the answers. Listening, sharing what you’ve learnt and helping someone think through their next steps can be enormously valuable.
Offer a peer connection
Connect with a colleague in a similar role for mutual support and practical conversations. That might be one CEO talking with another, or membership and events professionals exchanging ideas with someone who understands their work.
A peer connection offers both people the opportunity to share experience, test ideas and be a sounding board for each other.
Tell us about your experience, the areas you feel comfortable discussing and the people you would welcome connecting with.
We’ll work with you to prepare a short profile and ask you to approve it before it is published. When someone requests a connection, we’ll check your availability and interest before arranging an introduction. You and the other person can then agree on how and when to meet.
Your time and experience matter
This is a voluntary contribution, and we appreciate that your time is valuable. You can let us know your capacity and availability, and there is no expectation that you accept every request.
By taking part, you’ll help build a stronger network of association professionals who can learn from and support one another.
